Every pinball aficionado knows that certain machines are not easily found—they require relentless pursuit, akin to tracking game in the wild. For me, that elusive treasure was the Pinball Brothers Alien Ellen Ripley Edition.
This wasn’t just another Alien machine. It was a stunning reimagining that honors Sigourney Weaver’s iconic role, encased in a striking cabinet that seemed poised to unleash a xenomorph at any moment. As soon as I heard about its release, I thought: I must have it.
And so, the search began.
After years of browsing listings, sending hopeful messages, and facing the typical challenges of collectors—“already sold” or “sorry, they’re not producing these anymore”—a lead finally appeared: Mr Pinball Australia. They had not just one; they had the one.
And of course, Mr. Pinball Australia had one on display for us to check out!
This is where my experience shifted from mere purchase to a full-fledged pinball pilgrimage. Mr. Pinball himself didn’t just ship it; he personally loaded it, delivered it to my doorstep, and set it up in my game room like a silverball Santa Claus. He meticulously tightened bolts, leveled the tilt, and updated the software—by the time he departed, the machine was humming (or rather, growling) and primed for xenomorph combat.
The inaugural plunge exceeded my expectations—dark, immersive lighting; a tension-filled soundtrack; the thud of the ball being ejected into a playfield rich with cinematic callouts and terrifying toys. This machine is as much about the experience as it is about gameplay. For a lifelong Alien fan, it is sheer perfection.
