The latest news update reveals that the Sega Mega Drive game Last Battle: Legend of the Final Hero may be making its way to the Commodore Amiga as Fist of the North Star 2. The developer creating the game using the Scorpion Engine stated that it will be part of the Amiga game jam, with Street Fighter being the first priority. A video showcasing an early build of the game is available, along with a brief overview of the original game on Wikipedia.

Last Battle: Legend of the Final Hero is a side-scrolling martial arts beat ’em up initially released for the Mega Drive/Genesis in 1989 by Sega. The Japanese version, titled Shin Seikimatsu Kyūseishu Densetsu: Hokuto no Ken, is based on the manga and anime series Fist of the North Star. The international version underwent changes due to licensing issues.

The developer intends to create at least a demo level for the Amiga game jam, with hopes of developing a full game in the future. Stay tuned for more updates on IndieRetroNews!
