The State of Modern Atari: Examining Defective $1000 Atari XP Carts

Defective $1000 Atari XP Carts; the State of Modern Atari | An Editorial

Recently, a user named Cear Dragon on X reported issues with two limited AtariXP carts – Haunted House & Crystal Castles. Haunted House had the PCB inserted backwards, while Crystal Castles was described as buggy and unplayable. Atari support could only offer a refund for these limited releases, rather than replacements. The Limited XP line consisted of ten classic cartridge reprints with various extras, priced at $100 each or $1000 for the whole set.

Atari has addressed the situation, and in a video, I aim to discuss the expectations Atari enthusiasts have for the modern company. Stay tuned for my take on it.
