The Legend of Santa is a Christmas-themed platform game that draws heavy inspiration from the NES classic Super Mario Bros. 3. Despite its resemblance to a ROM hack, it is actually an indie platform game originally released on Steam last year.
In the game, Christmas is approaching, but Santa is faced with the invasion of the evil South Pole Troll and his army of Penguins at the North Pole. After being shot down by his own defense cannon, Santa must make his way back home, defeat the Troll, and save Christmas.
Just in time for Christmas, The Legend of Santa will be officially released on a Nintendo console, which many consider its spiritual home. The game will be available on the eshop for the Nintendo Switch on October 28, 2024, at the price of £3.84.
