Iron Gate, also known as Jojo037, has developed several games over the years, including titles like The Zing, The Real Brus Lii, and Mini Legión, which we’ve covered on Indie Retro News. Although I’ve hesitated to highlight his newer games due to previous criticisms regarding frame rates and reliance on the Backbone engine (despite decent graphics), I felt it was important to mention his latest releases: Space Patrol and Agente 357. Check out the latest footage below.
Here’s a brief overview of both titles from Jojo037’s website: “I aimed to create a game where a female character patrols space in search of aliens threatening galactic peace. Armed with a laser gun, her design draws inspiration from the 1960s serials and films featuring uniquely styled space technology. I spent time researching for this project, particularly in comic books, and aimed for graphics reminiscent of classic 80s platform games. An exciting feature of this game is that the character can shoot in eight directions, essential for combating airborne enemies that might otherwise be out of reach. The game showcases a 32-color palette and supports controls via both keyboard and joystick.”

“This game is intended as the third installment of a mini-trilogy: after Mini Swat and Mini Desert, we have Mini Legion, followed by Mini Polar and the later release of Mini Zorro. In this storyline, set against a snowy backdrop, players confront zombies within a laboratory base. The game features three levels and various foes, including not only zombies but also facility guards who aren’t afraid to shoot.”
