Indie Retro News: Delving into the Tetra Zone

Indie Retro News: Tetra Zone

The classic game of Tetris has now been reimagined as Tetra Zone for the Commodore Amiga. Developed by Wei-ju Wu, this modern take on the arcade puzzle game is now available for download. Saberman has shared a gameplay video of this early build.

The game was originally created for the AmiGameJam 2024 under the theme “The Sequel that Never Was”. Wu used modern tools and methods to develop the game on a classic Amiga system, utilizing a framework named RATR0. This framework is based on techniques described in Wu’s YouTube tutorial series “Amiga Hardware Programming in C”.

Minimum system requirements for Tetra Zone include an Amiga OCS system with 512 KB Chip RAM, 512 KB Fast RAM, and Kickstart/Workbench 1.3. You can download the game from the source link provided.
