Indie Retro News: Rick Dangerous DX

The Sega Megadrive/Genesis is getting a fresh title as Z-Team unveils a remastered version of the classic ‘Rick Dangerous’. Originally released on platforms like Amiga, Amstrad CPC, and Commodore 64, this new edition, titled ‘Rick Dangerous DX’, invites players into an adventurous world akin to Indiana Jones. Navigate treacherous caves and ancient temples while dodging enemies, boulders, and deadly traps.

First developed by Core Design and published by Firebird in 1989, this latest iteration builds upon the Nintendo Wii version (remade by Magic Team in 2008) as well as the recent Amiga remake by Z-Team (Domkid – Troudki in 2023). Join Rick Dangerous, a daring adventurer and occasional stamp collector, as he crashes in South America due to forgetting to refuel his aircraft. This addictive game promises exhilarating fun with Rick navigating perilous situations.

Features:

  • All graphics remastered by Domkid (inspired by the Wii version)
  • New title screen featuring an original illustration by Simon Phipps
  • Developed using the Scorpion Engine by Domkid (Z-Team)
  • Special thanks to Earok for the impressive Scorpion Engine and continued support
  • Appreciation to Troudki (Z-Team), the King of Vaporware
