Indie Retro News: Mad Moggy Unleashed

Indie Retro News: Mad Moggy

The news cycle may be a bit slow this week, and with the annoyance of Google AI and the heat making it tough to concentrate, I wanted to highlight a fun, family-oriented game called ‘Mad Moggy,’ developed by VisualImpact for the Commodore 64. In this game, you take on the role of a quirky cat, racing through various levels to collect essential items while avoiding pitfalls and skulls. It’s worth noting that the game is regularly updated and originated from the Platform Game Jam.

Here’s the latest from the developer: “Guide your mad Moggy to gather all the items without falling or colliding with skulls (especially in later levels). Once the kitten gets going, it’s full speed ahead unless she hits something (or you change direction), at which point she’ll reverse. Use the joystick to jump! The music and sound effects are from an older title of mine, while the level graphics were created for the jam. The cat character was designed by Jonas Holmsten for a previous project and is used with permission.”
