This week, we’ve received an exciting influx of ZX Spectrum games. In light of that, here’s the latest from Jimbo: his new work-in-progress for the Commodore 64, titled “Escape from PETSCII Castle.” This game draws inspiration from Wolfenstein 3D and follows Jimbo’s previous titles, including PETSCII Bros, PET Panic!, PET Space Invaders 2, and TREKWAR. Below, you’ll find some footage of the game along with a brief overview.
Here’s what Jimbo has to say: “Wolfenstein 3D shattered conventions when it was released in 1992. This is a sneak peek of my upcoming Commodore 64 game – Escape From PETSCII Castle. It features an 8-bit ray casting engine now complete with walls, doors, hidden passages, weapons, ammo, keys, and treasure. Enjoy multiple levels of chaotic fun! Everything is operational except for the enemies. Inspired by Wolfenstein 3D, this game was originally designed for the Commodore PET (LINK).”
Special thanks to dreadnought for the update!
