Luckily, one team is keeping the shoot em up spirit alive. ININ will be releasing X-Out : Resurfaced on platforms like Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam on the 20th of this month. This 90’s Amiga shooter has been faithfully rebuilt for modern platforms!
According to the Steam page, “In 1990, X-Out stood out from other shoot ’em ups by featuring underwater worlds instead of space settings. What set it apart even more was its shop system, allowing players to customize their ships, weapons, and accessories to create a unique gameplay experience every time”.
“In 2025, X-Out, the challenging underwater shoot ‘em up from Rainbow Arts, is making a comeback. ININ and Ziggurat have worked together to bring a faithful remake that is rebuilt from the ground up”.
