Tassei Denki announced the launch of a Pre-Launch Kickstarter page for its upcoming plug-and-play light gun device inspired by Time Crisis. The company also secured rights to include games like Steel Gunner, Steel Gunner 2, and Point Blank in this device. A prototype demonstration can be viewed in a Vimeo video here, showcasing its performance and promising compatibility with original hardware and software.
Light gun games have been notoriously challenging to emulate on modern displays due to their reliance on cathode ray tube technology. However, the G’AIM’E brand behind this device claims to leverage artificial intelligence to ensure compatibility with nearly any monitor. Tassei Denki also assures users that the device will deliver arcade-accurate gameplay.
The Kickstarter campaign is set to launch on June 24th at 12 PM Eastern Standard Time, featuring Basic, Premium, and Ultimate units. However, the black gun variant will be exclusive to the Japanese market due to regulations on realistic toy guns in other regions. Additional details about the project are expected later this month.
