The highly anticipated new roguelike game is set to release soon, and to keep fans engaged, the developer has unveiled a playable demo.
Inspired by Rogue 64 (a C64 classic) and RogueCraft (an Amiga gem), along with elements reminiscent of Marvel Avengers Alliance (now discontinued), this game promises an engaging experience.
This demo version, featuring two levels, offers players a glimpse of what to expect and makes a compelling case for investing in the full version.
Game Objective (from the manual)
Your aim is to climb as high as possible in the tower before succumbing to enemies. As you ascend, foes will become increasingly formidable. Careful selection of weapons and strategic movement is crucial, as your survival hinges on it! Determine which creatures present the greatest threat and take them down. The title screen showcases your highest floor score for you to challenge.
Understanding the Game Screen
Before diving into gameplay, familiarize yourself with the different elements displayed on the screen.
The game features various items, weapons, and enemies, including potions, coins, bows, shields, bats, and lizardmen. Notably, the game developer has incorporated several details:
- Bows require two hands; when equipped, they replace any currently held shields or swords, lowering your defense.
- Shields are one-handed; equipped shields replace any bows, leaving you unarmed, thus reducing your attack power.
- Swords are also one-handed; equipping a sword will remove any bows from your inventory.
