Description: Vector Patrol is a faithful clone of Irem’s Moon Patrol, recreated entirely in vector graphics. Just like in the original you have to navigate a moon buggy from one station on the Moon to another, all while avoiding crashing or getting destroyed by alien ships. The vehicle is constantly moving right and the player can speed up or slow down, jump, and shoot (simultaneously firing upwards and forwards). The game contains 25 checkpoints labeled from A – Z, also serving as a respawn point. Every five checkpoints mark a separate “stage” within the entire course; reaching the end of a stage under the par time grants a large score bonus. Dangers on the Moon include rocks (small and big ones) which can be shot to pieces or jumped over, pits which must be jumped, and UFO’s which fire at the player or bombard the ground (creating pits). Later the player also comes upon stationary tanks which fire missiles (that can be destroyed with the player’s own shots), landmines, and rocket cars which stalk the buggy from behind before rushing forward in an attempt to ram it down. After completing the first course (the “Beginner Course”) the player can try his skill on the harder “Champion Course”. In contrast to the original game Vector Patrol added a few bonus features like 3D animations after finishing a stage below par or unlockable achievements such as extra backgrounds, additional buggies or new course.

  • Whale's Voyage 2 - Ultra rare (Includes WV1)

    Whale’s Voyage 2 – Ultra rare (Includes WV1)

    Brand:Commodore

Two great Amiga/CD32 games on one CD!

Whale’s Voyage II: Die Übermacht, released in 1995, is the sequel to the sci-fi RPG Whale’s Voyage created by neo Software.

The game is a mix of role-playing, space exploration, trading and a bit of dungeon crawling. You control the crew of the spaceship Whale, and you start by creating four characters, choosing between several classes (Soldier, Medic, Monk, Psionic, Biochemist, Bounty Hunter, Electrician, Rhetorician, Pilot, and “Cybertechnician”).

With your spaceship, you will need to travel from one planet to another, and at each port, you can buy and sell goods. You can also land, and once on the surface, the game becomes a sort of dungeon crawler. In a way, it’s a kind of precursor of Mass Effect. Unlike the first game, in Whale’s Voyage II the exploration happens in real 3D. It is one of the few RPGs – another one is Ambermoon – to provide this feature on the Amiga.

Whale’s Voyage II is an excellent game that received very positive reviews from several magazines. Good story, great intro, beautiful graphics, and the right combination of RPG and trading. Maybe the only weak point is the turn-based space combat, but you can’t have everything.

The game was officially released only in German, but several years later one of the developers released a patch that translates the game to English.

Jonathan – Extremely rare Big Box Amiga Game (German)

    Brand:Commodore
