Passport to Paris (1984, Joyce Hakansson) – The Universe of Commodore 64

With a wealth of hidden treasures in the history of the Commodore 64, particularly in gaming, I felt it essential to spotlight these gems. Hence, I’m launching a new series of articles, starting with this fantastic seasonal title on the very first day of summer 2025.

Welcome to Paris! As a tour guide leading a group of 12 enthusiastic tourists, you receive alarming news: their flight has been rescheduled to leave an hour early. Your mission? Locate all 12 tourists before they miss their flight home.

Gameplay

Your task is to search for tourists across six iconic locations in Paris: the Louvre, Notre Dame, Moulin Rouge, Opera, Montmartre, and the Eiffel Tower.

Mini-games

Each location presents unique challenges, such as organizing tourist lines, lighting candles, engaging with waiters, or finding local artists.

Resource Management

You start with 200 francs and 12 hours to locate all tourists. Choose among four transportation options: bus, taxi, metro, or on foot.

Outcome

The game concludes when time or money runs out, or when you successfully gather all tourists.

As you can see, the game is highly immersive and offers a variety of engaging gameplay experiences.
