
Montezuma’s Revenge – The 40th Anniversary Edition is set to be released on Steam for PC in January 2025
Eastasiasoft Limited, an independent developer and publisher, announced today that the platforming adventure classic Montezuma’s Revenge will be available on Steam starting January 16th. The game will be released as a 2.5D remake and an expanded Director’s Cut of the original, all bundled together in an exclusive Deluxe Edition on Steam. Additionally, a reimagined modern version of Montezuma’s Revenge – The 40th Anniversary Edition is in the works for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles, with an expected release later in 2025. The 1983 classic multi-room platformer Montezuma’s Revenge makes a comeback in 2.5D glory, now featuring 100 challenging rooms to explore. To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the game has been expanded to match the full vision of creator Robert Jaeger. Players can now choose between playing as male explorer Pedro or his sister Rosita, embarking on a thrilling adventure in dangerous ruins to uncover hidden treasures!
The Deluxe Edition bundle for Steam, priced at US$29.99/€29.99, will include both versions of the game. Montezuma’s Revenge – The 40th Anniversary Edition will also be available for purchase individually at US$19.99/€19.99. Players who buy the game during launch will receive a 10% discount for a limited time. Physical copies of the game for Nintendo Switch are available for pre-order through online retailer Playasia, with a Limited Edition priced at US$39.99 or the standard edition at US$29.99 plus shipping.
