We are excited to announce an exclusive reveal for the Commodore Amiga community. Our friend Aaron White has informed us that the 1987 Arcade game ‘Wardner’ is coming to the Amiga through RetroRic and developed using Earok’s Scorpion Engine. ‘Wardner’ is a side-scrolling platformer developed by Toaplan and published by Taito in 1987, where players control Dover on a mission to rescue his kidnapped girlfriend Mia from an evil warlock. Check out some early footage of the game below!
Here are some details about the development progress: “My current work involves bringing Toaplan’s Wardner to the Amiga platform. I’ve been working on this for just a month and have been learning a lot about game development. I aim to have a working prototype of Level 1 by the end of April, with a possible demo for interested players to try out and playtest. Level 1 is about 65% complete, with a few enemies and background layers left to add. The game is planned to be released for stock AGA and OCS Amigas.”
That’s all the information we have for now, and we can’t wait to play this new game from a member of the RGDS podcast team!
