I rarely feature flight simulators on Indie Retro News. It’s not that I don’t want to, but it’s rare for a developer to release a new flight sim for a retro system. Today’s news, however, is quite special. A creator named Jarosław ‘Roeoender’ Wosik has released an update to his Atari XL/XE game ‘F-16 Falcon Strike’, paying homage to the golden era of 80/90’s computer combat flight simulators. Along with this news, we have some footage of the game below.
Here’s the latest: “Become a Polish Air Force F-16 Pilot defending the E.U. & Polish border from B.A.R.F. (Belarussian And Russian Federation) aggression in the fictional ‘Królewiec Campaign’ consisting of 15 varied missions. Apply strategic planning to defeat enemy air and ground forces, and quickly adapt your plans according to developments in the simulated dynamic 3D battlefield. With this game, I aim to pay homage to the golden era of 80/90’s computer combat flight simulators.”
