It’s that special time of year again when we embrace our inner sci-fi enthusiasts and have fun misquoting Star Wars for 24 hours! To commemorate the beloved geek holiday known as Star Wars Day, we’re thrilled to introduce a brand new game for the C64 that will surely delight many in the retro gaming community. Presenting ‘Empire Strikes Back’ for the C64 by Megastyle—a fan-made adaptation of the original Parker Brothers game that hit the Atari 2600 and Intellivision back in 1982!
Many of you might remember the original Empire Strikes Back for the C64, released in 1988 by Domark, featuring the classic vector graphics that many enjoyed in arcades. This new version, however, pays tribute to the Atari 2600 classic as a side-scrolling shooter, where players pilot a snow speeder to defend the rebel base on Hoth against an army of AT-ATs!

The game’s developers at Megastyle proudly state: “40 years after the original Atari and Intellivision releases, we’re excited to bring you the Commodore 64 fan version of the Parker Brothers classic. In this version, you’ll protect the rebels’ power generators from the walkers—just like in the original game. Now with 8 levels, new enemies, cut scenes, and an ending sequence, all on the C64!”
